I had a this grand idea to take Will and Anna to Thanksgiving Point last Tuesday, because everything has a $2 entry fee per person! Well, long story short, EVERYONE else had the same idea as me! It was PACKED! But we still had a great time! Can't believe summer is almost over.... I can't WAIT for fall!

I am a Pin head...
I am COMPLETELY obsessed with pinterest.com! I stumbled onto it the other day and LOVE it! BUT, the problem is, I now want to completely redo my house, update my wardrobe, I feel less than creative but completely inspired AND I need a new camera! That's all!

1st day... at least for the girls...
Today was the first day of school for my girls. New school for Mara, old school for Anna. William starts next week and he can't wait. I love that my kids love school. I am one proud mama!
Oh and WHEN did they get so old and sassy?! Do you think Anna is happy?!!

Words...
Words... they are everywhere in my head right now. Funny, because I can't find any words to describe really how I feel.
Words are needed to communicate. Feelings, emotions, and so on.
Words can hurt, discourage, judge, batter, disturb, scar and destroy. This has happened to me recently.
However, with the right words, you can lift, inspire, influence, make a funny, motivate, prevail and change the future.
Words are simple, yet have so much power. For good and bad. There are millions of wonderful words. If only we all used the right ones all the time. What a wonderful place this would be. P.S. Isnt' it funny how not using words at all can hurt just as bad as a word, if not worse. hmmmm...

Good to be me...
Why didn't anyone tell me to treasure my youth?! For as long as i can remember, I wanted to be older. When I was 8, I wanted to be 12. When i was 12, I wanted to be 16. And so on. I always wanted to be something I wasn't. Do something I couldn't. Be someone I wasn't. I envied people. Probably more than I should have. Especially in high school. I never stood up for what I believed in. I never did what I wanted to do. And the funny thing is... I have no idea why?!
I saw the phrase on the sign of a Lutheran church the other day and it struck me. It said... "If you stand for nothing, you'll fall for anything." this couldn't be more true. I know, because I did just this. I wasted away my youth worrying about others. Wondering what they thought, how I looked to them. I never worried about ME.
For the first time in my life, I can say, that I do stand for something and it takes a lot for me to fall for anything. Except maybe chocolate. Hee hee! It feels good to be me. It feels powerful to stand for something. It feels good to teach my children to be themselves NO MATTER WHAT!
For the first time in my life, I feel good in my own skin. And that means the world to me!
Mara had an experience this past week when we were on our family vacation. Let's just say, there was a fashion show, a minor wardorbe malfunction and one very upset little girl.
Mara learned a very big lesson that night. I was proud of her and told her that no one should be able to tell her what to do. I hope she listens. I know I didn't when I was her age. She is growing so fast. I only hope that she will remember who she is. She is beautiful inside and out and has already shown more courage and strength in 7 1/2 years than I have in my 34 years. Trials and opportunities will come and go, but as long as you have something to believe in, and faith that it will happen, and the courage to be yourself, you cannot fail.
I FINALLY get that!

Road trip...
My children marvel at the sounds of the grating on the side of the road,
having all the windows down and going 90 miles an hour and buying mounds of candy for a much needed road trip.
having all the windows down and going 90 miles an hour and buying mounds of candy for a much needed road trip.
And as I drive all I hear is...
Laughter at nothing and phrases like...
"How do you smell pee, unless you eat asparagus or cheerios?"
"I smell pooh..."
"I smell trees..."
"I smell nothing and it stinks..."
"When are we going to be there?!" (this one came about 500 times!)
It makes me smile that my kids can find humor in just about anything.
Like the words Pocatello and Port of Entry and that someone would name a city, 'Woodland' and a sign for a museum that has the dead bodies makes them scream like they really saw a dead body.
All followed up by the question...
"Mom, is the hot tub hot?"
LOVE road trips with the kiddos!
More details to come after I download the 633 pictures from our trip!
